During the making process each pleat is individually carved, often pushing the clay to its limits, before being carefully refined over the coming hours and days. The dramatic ruffled edges are moulded and shaped to accentuate the natural movement of the clay, resulting in beautiful variation in form between each piece; no two pieces are the same.
